DISTRIBUTION OF CALCULATORS
CENTER FOR BLIND AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN
BINH THANH - SAÏGON
November 2024
Located in the Binh Thanh district of Saïgon, this center for blind and visually impaired children is run by Catholic nuns. The establishment hosts children aged 6 to 18 from poor families living in remote provinces of Vietnam, where no suitable facilities for the visually impaired are available. Some of these children, abandoned at birth and later adopted, are entrusted by their adoptive parents to live, pursue their education, and learn a trade here.
At the center, the children receive a comprehensive education. They follow a traditional curriculum and learn braille. Music also plays a significant role in their daily lives: they play various instruments such as the flute, the zither, and the organ, discovering the joy of artistic creation. Additionally, they engage in sports activities like running and swimming, developing their strength and self-confidence. The establishment also offers courses in arts, computer-assisted music, and martial arts, preparing them to defend themselves and thrive in their lives.
Upon leaving, the children possess a set of knowledge and skills that enables them to become autonomous and envision a more serene and promising future.
To support this noble cause, IPACE donated 10 talking calculators to those visually impaired children to assist them in their educational journey and enhance their independence in mathematics. With this adapted equipment, these students can now follow their classes more easily and develop their skills with confidence.
DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOLARSHIPS & BICYCLES
CA MAU
August & September 2024
As the new school year begins, IPACE, in partnership with the Buddhist charitable association of Cà Mau, has awarded scholarships to 40 deserving students from underprivileged backgrounds, aged 9 to 16, across three schools in the Cà Mau province.
These scholarships, covering textbooks, uniforms, school supplies, and insurance fees, provide significant relief to families already facing financial strain. For these students, this support goes beyond easing the start of the school year. It offers the reassurance of being able to continue their education without the constant worry of insufficient resources, and opens the door to aspirations for a brighter and more hopeful future.
In parallel, we provided bicycles to 20 schoolchildren from disadvantaged families living far from school in remote rural areas. For these children, whose journey to school is long and exhausting on foot, these bicycles offer a faster and safer means of transport. This support allows them to devote more time to their studies while making their daily lives easier.
DISTRIBUTION OF BICYCLES – OGRUNG – IA KO –
CHU SE-GIA LAI
June 2024
In collaboration with a charity managed by a Buddhist nun from Saigon, IPACE visited a primary school located in Ogrung village, Ia Ko commune, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province, and selected 20 deserving and underprivileged students to offer them bicycles.
These students, aged 10 to 14, come from disadvantaged families living in rural areas far from their school.
The bicycles will considerably reduce the amount of time they would otherwise have to spend walking. This will also prevent them from having unwanted encounters on their way to school.
With those bicycles, we contribute to improve their daily lives, help them realize their potential by facilitating their access to school and break the cycle of poverty.
