OUR PROJECTS

Helping vulnerable communities

IPACE finances construction activities in rural areas in order to improve the daily lives of vulnerable communities. As an example, IPACE provides fresh clean water to vulnerable communities through the drilling of water wells.

IPACE also supports the construction of bridges to enhance mobility, make daily travel safer, and improve access to education.

CONSTRUCTION OF THE BRIDGE OF KINDNESS (II) ("CAU THIEN AI IPACE (II)") - 36M
XEO SAU- NGUYEN VIET KHAI- PHU TAN -
CA MAU

April 2025

The province of Cà Mau, in southern Vietnam, is known for its vast network of rivers and canals. While this unique geography shapes the region’s identity, it also greatly complicates the daily mobility of its inhabitants. Every day, children, the elderly, and entire families must cross waterways by small boats, makeshift rafts, or old bamboo bridges, without any guarantee of safety. Some are forced to travel dozens of additional kilometers simply to reach school, work, or reunite with their families.

In the remote commune of Nguyễn Việt Khái, the situation remains particularly concerning. Isolated and lacking adequate infrastructure, the community faces numerous daily challenges just to carry out essential journeys.

The Xẻo Sâu Canal clearly illustrates these hardships. The absence of a bridge forces more than 160 students and 250 households to cross the canal each day using small boats or improvised rafts, at great personal risk. Currently, residents must leave their bicycles or motorcycles on the riverbank and use makeshift means to cross the water. On rainy or windy days, the crossing becomes even more difficult and hazardous.

Primary and secondary school students must either brave the dangers of strong currents or take long detours to reach their schools: Hoa Tường Phi Kindergarten, Rạch Chèo Primary School, and Nguyễn Việt Khái Middle School.

To address this critical situation, IPACE, with the active support of the local community, funded the construction of a 36-meter bridge.
This vital infrastructure has profoundly improved the daily lives of families: it significantly reduces travel times, ensures safer crossings, facilitates access to education, and boosts local economic development by promoting trade and mobility

The province of Cà Mau, in southern Vietnam, is known for its vast network of rivers and canals. Every day, children, the elderly, and entire families must cross waterways by small boats, makeshift rafts, or old bamboo bridges, without any guarantee of safety. Some are forced to travel dozens of extra kilometers simply to reach school, work, or visit their families.

In the remote commune of Nguyễn Việt Khái, the situation is particularly critical. Isolated and lacking reliable infrastructure, the community struggles daily just to accomplish essential journeys.
A striking example is the Pháp Chế Canal, which more than 100 students and 240 households must cross every day using unsafe small boats. Primary and secondary students attending Võ Thị Sáu School are regularly exposed to the dangers of strong currents and precarious crossings, or must take long detours to reach their classrooms.

To address this urgent situation, IPACE, with the active participation of the local population, funded the construction of a 32-meter bridge. This vital infrastructure has profoundly transformed the daily lives of these families: it has significantly shortened travel times, ensured safe crossings, improved access to education, and boosted local economic development by facilitating trade and circulation.

We extend our sincere thanks to our generous donors and to AQUIS Capital, whose invaluable support made this project possible.

CLEAN WATER SUPPLY PROJECT FOR THE RESIDENTS OF
BRENG VILLAGE

IA PET- DAK DOA - GIA LAI

January 2024

The village of Breng lies within the Ia Pet commune, Đắk Đoa district, Gia Lai province, in Vietnam's Central Highlands. It's home to over 180 families, totaling 672 individuals, predominantly from the economically disadvantaged Jaraï and Bahna ethnic groups. Their livelihoods primarily depend on agriculture.

Presently, the village faces a pressing health concern due to reliance on contaminated water from irrigation canals linked to rice fields. The dry season exacerbates worries about water scarcity, underscoring the urgent need for a reliable water source to safeguard health and meet daily needs.

In collaboration with a local Buddhist charity organization, we've facilitated the construction of a drilled well to provide the villagers easy access to clean water.

Strategically located at the heart of the village, near the primary school and community center, this 80-meter-deep well ensures a steady underground water supply. This significantly enhances living conditions and, in the long run, helps prevent the outbreak of infectious diseases, potentially saving lives. Residents will benefit from this new well for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene purposes. The maintenance of the well will be ensured by the commune, guaranteeing the sustainability of this vital resource.

CLEAN WATER SUPPLY PROJECT FOR THE RESIDENTS OF
BIABRE VILLAGE
IA PET- DAK DOA - GIA LAI

December 2023

The village of Biabre is located in the commune of Ia Pet, Đắk Đoa district, Gia Lai province, in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. It comprises more than 190 families with 994 inhabitants, belonging to extremely impoverished ethnic minorities including Jaraï, Kinh, and Bahna. These residents primarily sustain themselves through agriculture.

The region experiences only two seasons: the rainy season or monsoon and a six-month-long dry season. In recent years, precipitation has become increasingly scarce, extending the period of drought. The villagers mainly rely on water from polluted rice fields, posing a growing contamination threat.

In collaboration with a local Buddhist charitable association, we built a drilled well to provide the village residents with easily accessible clean water. The well is situated approximately 30 meters from the nearest homes and close to the main school, currently accommodating around 210 children.

Water well drilling

Through this project, we have succeeded in making a significant impact by ensuring sustainable access to quality water for this community. The construction of a drilled well has significantly improved hygiene conditions, providing residents with the ability to drink, cook, and wash, while also contributing to the reduction of infectious diseases.

The maintenance of the well will be overseen by the local community, ensuring the longevity of this resource and emphasizing the transition towards a substantial improvement compared to the current dependence on a polluted source.

CLEAN WATER SUPPLY PROJECT FOR THE VILLAGE OF CHU RUOI SUL
KONG HTOK- CHU SE - GIA LAI

October 2021

Chư Ruồi Sul village is located in Kông Htok commune, Chư Sê district, Gia Lai province, in the highlands of central Vietnam.

It accommodates more than 320 families for 1,468 inhabitants who belong to the extremely poor ethnic minorities of Jaraï and Bahna.

The inhabitants of the village live mainly from agriculture.

The region has only two seasons: a rainy season or monsoon and a dry season which lasts six months.

In recent years, rain has been increasingly uneven and droughts more prolonged. The inhabitants of the village mainly used water from streams and waterfalls which are located more than 7 km from their homes. These water sources are becoming scarce, often polluted and therefore not sufficient to meet the needs of the population.

In collaboration with a local Buddhist charity, we built a drilled well in order to provide a source of clean water which is easily accessible to the inhabitants of the village. The water well is located at 50 m from the first dwellings and near the two primary and nursery schools in the village which currently accommodate around 120 children.

Water well drilling

Through this project, we aim to improve the sanitary situation of the village, to allow its inhabitants as well as the children of its two schools to have an easy and sustainable access to quality water and in sufficient quantity.

This well will not only allow them to drink, cook, wash and do the cleaning, but also for them to avoid traveling long distances.

In addition, access to safe water will help limit the occurrence of infectious diseases and ultimately save lives.
